Cruising Downtown ’24 RECAP

My MG next to a (much cleaner) Porsche 356

On August 31st, I took my MG down to the car show which I refer to throughout the year as “the big one.” The cruising downtown show on Elm street in Manchester attracts over a thousand cars each year, and this year was no different. We showed up at about 6:45 AM, heading to a parking lot where all the cars meet before they are shepherded to the show site, Elm street. Upon arriving, we were ushered further ahead in the line, simply because our car was small enough to fit in a slightly smaller gap! How convenient!

The MG in the parking lot shortly before the show with a Cougar, a C3 Vette, a Buick, and hundreds of other cars!

I’ve always said the best part of the show is when all the cars fire up to leave the lot, and this year I was not disappointed. For the third year in the row, we also got great parking spots! This year the weather was great as it wasn’t too sunny or hot like past years. The showing was great as well! Some of the coolest cars I’ve ever seen were there. There was everything from a Daihatsu Midget to an Ariel Atom.

This is always my favorite show of the year. This one was particularly great for many reasons, such as the lovely weather, fantastic turnout, and my car’s drastically improved condition over last year! Did anyone else make it to this show this year?
